About Résumé Case Studies Navigation

A hackathon is a weekend-long event where students come together to learn about the latest technologies and build innovative products, and ShellHacks is no exception. ShellHacks, also known as Florida’s Largest Hackathon, had a Miami Beach theme in 2019 that also incorporated its signature colors, pink and teal. For students to sign up for the hackathon, we needed a page that suit the theme and was able to contain information, frequently asked questions, and links to register. As the Co-Director of the hackathon, I wanted us to go all-out on the theme.

May - June 2019
  • Challenges
  • My team and I only had a month to create a full-stack website in React with mosly animated assets.
  • There were only two people designing assets for the site, including myself. This includes the all-white .svg logos for all of the involved hackathon sponsors.
  • A lot of the website could not come together without having the assets first, so myself and the other artist felt pressured to put out work quickly.
  • Style Guide & Mockups

  • Results
  • The site was released on time, allowing students to apply and register for the hackathon at the appropriate time.
  • I hadn’t used .svg format much prior, so I was able to learn a lot about it and its advantages for UI design and development.
  • I feel that this is some of my best work to date. It’s actually still available to be viewed at 2019.shellhacks.net!
