HackGT 2019
36-Hour Hackathon
25 October - 27 October, 2019
  • Challenges
  • My team and I only had 36 hours to complete the project.
  • Due to the time crunch, we elected to build the game utilizing React Native versus a tool better suited to game development, such as Unity.
  • Again due to the time crunch, we were unable to create a lot of our own assets and had to rely on preexisting sprites.

  • Results
  • Project was submitted to HackGT 2019 and was presented to the Atlanta-based financial technology company NCR.
  • I learned how to make a game in React Native!
  • In the past, I have built things for hackathons with the sole purpose of trying to win; not really thinking who would actually get benefits from using it if it were widely released. I can proudly say that Budget Pursuit is different! If my team and I continued development and released it, I could genuinely see myself using the app.
