About Résumé Case Studies Navigation

Hauwdy! I’m Natalie, a sunny Miami-born individual that now lives in an overcast Seattle. At the moment, I work as an information security engineer with a specialization in governance, risk, and compliance... But I also am passionate about UI/UX design so I am looking for a change. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology (and a minor in Fine Arts) from Florida International University. This fostered my love for the art that I can create with technology!

Speaking of FIU, I have held a myriad of positions for a community by the name of INIT, which is a grassroots organization for breaking into the tech industry by holding events for polishing skills, networking, and developing professionally... All started by FIU graduates, including myself. Thanks to INIT, I co-directed ShellHacks in 2019, which just so happens to be Florida’s Largest Hackathon to this very day. As of now, I am part of the INIT Professional chapter as the Director of Uplift, a program for diversity, equity, and inclusion as well as mentorship.

In my spare time, I love to cook & bake. In fact, I just opened a nifty little pop-up bakery by the name of Al-Mi’raj Confectionery Company, where I will showcase bagels, baklava, and other special treats. Sometimes, I also play the bass guitar, but I am... not-so-great at it. A couple of things that I am much better at are skateboarding and rollerskating. Lastly, besides UI/UX design, a few art forms I love are drawing, painting, and crocheting.

Thanks for stopping by!
- Natalie
